Booking a wedding photographer is so exciting and nerve racking, I get it! I've laid out the step by step process required to book a wedding with me anywhere along the west coast. STEP ONE: CONTACT
My number one tip for you here is to contact me EARLY to book your date. Summer/Fall wedding seasons are usually booked up by spring. Just send me an email or give me a call to check the availability of your date. All dates are first come first serve and will not be held without a contract and retainer fee in place.
STEP TWO: SET UP A MEETING
As you may have figure out by now, I am based in Missoula Montana, so meetings may be a little difficult if you are living along the west coast. However, thanks to technology we can still meet "face to face". We can meet via Skype, FaceTime, or a regular phone call. During this meeting we will discuss the details of your big day, what you hope to get out of your investment, and I will be able to answer any questions you may have. Be sure to read over the contract example or your specific contract before hand too!
STEP THREE: CONTRACT & RETAINER FEE
Ive combined these two into one step because they must be completed together. You can find an example contract/important policy info under the West Coast Wedding Photography Resources page. Please be sure to contact April Payton Photography to request a digital copy of the contract for your specific wedding/coverage. Once you have signed the agreement you can mail it with the 40% retainer fee (personal check, cashier's check, or money order) to the following address:

STEP FOUR: RELAX & PLAN
Now that you have your photographer booked it is time to plan your wedding and of course relax, when you can of course! I am available any time to set up another meeting/phone call to help you plan you wedding day schedule, at no extra charge. I think it is very important that we discuss the schedule together before anything is set in stone, to be sure enough time is given to meet your expectations. If you think you have it all under control, you can always check out the recommended timeline under the resources tab to get a good idea of how long things typically run during the wedding day.
